I love to laugh and today there was no shortage of laughter!
It started this morning at breakfast when Lynda came up with a great new invention. The brain wave came to her as a result of our over indulgence last night at the Golden Corral. Although the mechanism is still under development….the intent is to have an external “stomach” that can be installed to catch everything you eat but don’t want to digest when visiting a restaurant buffet. Once a person has eaten their nutritional quota for the meal they can simply attach their Pouch Pocket and voila….you still get to taste all that you eat but none of it will stick to you. The Pouch Pocket hangs from your belt and can be discarded as you leave the restaurant. Questions such as …..will you pay upon entry or at time of exit come to mind depending on the weight of your pouch pocket but that problem belongs to the restaurants…not to inventor Lynda. The visual image this conversation supported left us holding our sides as we munched on another delicious breakfast in Darlene’s amazing kitchen.
Our day was filled with friendship and fun and culminated tonight at an Appies & Happy Hour hosted by Marilyn, sister of Darlene’s friend Dianne. The party kicked off at 3:00 pm and concluded about 5 ½ hours later as we left with tears rolling down our cheeks. From Nina’s (one of the guests) dry sense of humour to Lynda’s quick wit……it was like a tennis match made for spectators. I’d happily include some of the content but it was definitely one of those cases of “you had to be there” so you’ll just have to trust me that it was HILARIOUS!!!
Hard to believe that tomorrow will be our last full day in Mesa. Time flies when you’re having fun….and we seem to have no shortage of that.
